Nautica is a Strictly Business son that is a popular choice for purebred Maine Anjou breeders right now. If you are looking for hair, and more hair this calf has it. Combined with his thickness and hair he will find his way into the championship round on his own.

.
How does the sale work?

The calves are viewed in the pasture on their dams, under natural conditions. A complete listing of all calves with information on age, weight, sire and dams will be available when you come to inspect the calves. We will also be sending out a catalog the first of August with details about the calves being offered. Information will also be posted on our website. If you are unable to make it to the viewing on August 22nd or 23rd and would like to see the calves we will make every effort to accommodate your needs, please call ahead to make an appointment. For this type of sale you don't need to be present to bid. The sale is conducted by phone. Base prices are set on each calf starting at $900.00 on steers and $1100.00 on heifers. Bids will be updated hourly on our website starting August 25th, after noon . This will allow you to see the current bid on each calf in the sale.

You must open the bids on your calves by noon on August 25 th. We then contact everyone who has placed a bid on a particular calf. You are allowed to raise your bids in increments of $50 or more. It's very important that you be available to take phone calls so that the sales can be finished quickly. Keep in mind that this form of bidding takes quite a few phone calls, so please be patient. It’s nice for you in that you don't have to be present to bid.

For example, if you like calf #100. You must call us by noon and say you would like to place a $900.00 bid on steer #100. Now, if someone else has already placed a bid on that calf we will tell you that you will have to bid $950.00 to join in the bidding. If you say yes, we call the previous bidder and inform them that the steer has been raised to $950.00 and they must take it to $1000.00. That will go on until all the bidders have dropped off except the highest bidder. This is a very common type of auction across the nation, and is very successful for the breeder and the buyer.

We are looking forward to this year’s sale, and it is our prediction that there will be some great calves for great prices. In the first week of August we will have video clips and current photos of all the calves posted on our website for you to view. Please feel free to call us if you have any questions and we would be more than happy to visit with you.
