You must open the bids on your calves by noon on August 24th. We then contact everyone who has placed a bid on a particular calf. You are allowed to raise your bids in increments of $50 or more until the calf reaches $1500 then in 100 dollar increments. It's very important that you be available to take phone calls so that the sales can be finished quickly. Keep in mind that this form of bidding takes quite a few phone calls, so please be patient. It’s nice for you in that you don't have to be present to bid.

For example, if you like calf #100. You must call us by noon and say you would like to place a $900.00 bid on steer #100. Now, if someone else has already placed a bid on that calf we will tell you that you will have to bid $950.00 to join in the bidding. If you say yes, we call the previous bidder and inform them that the steer has been raised to $950.00 and they must take it to $1000.00. That will go on until all the bidders have dropped off except the highest bidder. This is a very common type of auction across the nation, and is very successful for the breeder and the buyer.
